As I’m now working on installing Ceph on the cluster nodes and experience some stability issues I’ve already reported in another thread, I’d like to know whether the MIOP driver (especially the one installed on the nodes) supports peer to peer DMA, as this would allow for fast direct data exchange between the nodes without using the control board (which would otherwise become a bottleneck, and I’m afraid it has already become one):
Apparently, the ASM2824 does support this operating mode, but the driver must contain a corresponding routine for P2P DMA to work. Please note that a working IOMMU may disturb its operation.
